VaynerMedia is a contemporary global creative and media agency with an expertise in driving relevance for clients and delivering impactful business results. The Associate Director, Media Buying & Planning is the day-to-day leader inside the Media Department, mentoring and working closely with a unified media buying unit consisting of Media Analysts, Senior Media Analysts and Managers. This role serves as a trusted and respected leader within the organization and is relied upon for high-level operations management, innovation, and client/partner relationships. The position reports to a Director, Media and works closely with buying teammates and other core discipline team members (Data Analytics) to service assigned clients’ goals. What You'd Do
Regularly meet with direct reports, set daily expectations, ensure progress toward goals, provide strategic guidance, and lead training sessions. Act as client lead, maintaining client relationships, addressing executional or strategic needs, and presenting media plans and campaign results. Ensure campaign performance is of the highest standard by measuring against client KPIs and business objectives, and by providing thought leadership on media plans. Create media plans, assist in presentation material creation, and provide strategic guidance on reporting calls with clients. Ensure strategy and direction meet or exceed client expectations for campaigns or initiatives, taking a proactive approach to client business challenges. Oversee monthly finance processes, reviewing budget reports, media authorizations, and billing. Partner with the Director to deliver best-in-class media investment strategy and execution outputs derived from industry insights and expertise. Communicate information internally and externally, managing deliverables between client, account, and analysts. Establish internal policies and POVs on agency partnerships and the digital media landscape, and apply them to current client business cases. Collaborate across agency disciplines to craft holistic omnichannel media strategies rooted in driving tangible business outcomes for large brands. Actively consider new opportunities for key clients and proactively recommend new tactics and partners. What You've Got
A minimum of 5 years of media buying experience within paid social platforms. Experience working with Paid Search/Programmatic platforms is a plus. Experience leading and managing growing teams with the ability to clearly communicate priorities and unify team members around a common goal. Strategic understanding of traditional, digital, and social-specific media planning & buying, with proper metrics of success and measurement opportunities. High attention to detail and organizational excellence to ensure flawless delivery of planned strategies. People-first leadership mentality; ability to inspire positivity and respect among employees and support their professional growth. Experience with MOAT/IAS/Double Verify, Nielsen/Millward Brown/Oracle Measurement is a plus. Compensation & Benefits
