Senior Consultant, Organizational Design & Effectiveness
The Senior Advisor, Organizational Design & Effectiveness (ODE) provides advice and counsel on ODE opportunities primarily for the senior leader/executive population to execute on HR and business/group strategies. The role proactively partners with business and HR leaders and completes strategic ODE work to deliver business results and/or minimize risk. Knowledge of Senior Leader Job Design and Evaluation would be an asset. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. Responsibilities
Leads the execution of strategic ODE initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals; plays a key role in enterprise-wide business transformation initiatives, including the integration of in-progress and future acquisitions. Provides advice and guidance on implementation of a wide range of ODE solutions; includes organization efficiency (e.g., number of layers, span of control, compression) and organization effectiveness (e.g., role clarity, accountabilities, decision making authority & collaboration) and organization development. Acts as a prime ODE subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders and provides advisory support to HR Business Partners to support achieving business outcomes. Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders. Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of core business/group processes. Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders. ODE Insights and Analytics: Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and meaningful recommendations. Carries out ODE analytics and designs to produce descriptive ODE dashboards and reports that help drive decision-making, as appropriate. Provides insights, monitors and tracks performance/trends on organization health and executive portfolio health, and addresses any issues. Supports the identification and implementation of digital enhancements/capabilities to support work efficiencies and improved data quality. Industry Trends and Emerging Practices: Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making. Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies. Implements changes in response to shifting trends. Networks with industry contacts to gather and identify competitive insights and best practices. Enhances subject matter expertise and keeps abreast of organization design trends by reading journals and articles, and assisting in the research, assessment and BMO-customization of internal and external information relevant to the theory and practice of organization design. ODE Governance: Contributes to the ongoing development and consistent application of ODE strategy, framework and principles by making improvement recommendations to existing ODE processes, tools and materials and by continually testing materials with HR business partners and business leaders. Supports the design, development, and implementation of ODE tools and training required to deliver business results. Works collaboratively with other ODE practitioners to determine opportunities to refine ODE efficiency and effectiveness. Provides historical data, analysis and insights on role relativity, internally and externally. Manages / supports Job design and documentation of Senior Leadership jobs. Completes / supports enterprise-wide executive and managing director evaluations based on Korn Ferry Hay methodology. Works with Job & Position Management to ensure senior leader information is up to date and accurate. Qualifications
Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge. Typically, 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In-depth/Expert knowledge of organization design/organization development principles, process and methodology. Data driven decision making - In-depth / Expert. In-depth/Expert experience using tools such as Microsoft Excel and PowerBI to conduct thoughtful data analysis and story-telling presentations is an asset. Experience in Korn Ferry Hay or other Job Evaluation methodology is an asset. Research skills - In-depth/Expert. Design thinking - In-depth/Expert. Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert. Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert. Influence skills - In-depth / Expert. Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth / Expert. Able to manage ambiguity. Salary and Pay
Salary: $102,000.00 - $190,000.00 Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position. BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
