Overview

Were undertaking a multi-year transformation program that is modernizing technology, facilities, and operations across the enterprise. To support this effort, we are seeking an Instructional Designer (Contractor) who will play a key role in building training deliverables that help associates adopt new systems and processes. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role: 90% of the time will be spent producing step-by-step job aids, playbooks, and quick reference guides based on new system processes. The remaining 10% will involve applying creativity to design microlearning, simulations, and multimedia content that accelerate adult learning and support long-tenured associates transitioning off legacy systems. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives on precision, clarity, and consistency while also knowing when to add modern, engaging elements that make training stick. Key Responsibilities Develop job aids, quick reference guides, and playbooks using process documentation, screenshots, and system task outputs. Leverage existing templates and standards to ensure clarity and consistency across deliverables. Collaborate with SMEs, product owners, and project leads to capture processes and translate them into usable learning materials. Partner with a team lead to prioritize tasks, review materials, and ensure business logic is incorporated. Apply adult learning principles to create content that resonates with long-tenured associates moving from legacy systems to modern platforms. Produce light multimedia (e.g., Articulate Storyline simulations, microlearning videos, Canva visuals) to complement written documentation (~10% of role). Perform quality checks to ensure deliverables meet standards for accuracy, accessibility, and ease of use. Adjust quickly to evolving project needs and stakeholder feedback while maintaining deadlines. Maintain organized records of training materials and version control.

Qualifications

3+ years of instructional design experience, ideally with system implementations or ERP rollouts. Strong portfolio showcasing step-by-step documentation, job aids, and reference guides. Experience supporting organizations through legacy-to-modern system migrations strongly preferred. Proficiency with Articulate Storyline/Rise, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar tools. Ability to transform system task recorder outputs and sandbox processes into polished deliverables. Understanding of adult learning theory and strategies for training experienced, long-tenured employees. Strong attention to detail with a proven track record of producing high-quality deliverables under deadlines. Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work with leads, SMEs, and project stakeholders. Bachelors degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field preferred.

Job details

Location: Onsite at Deerfield Beach preferred; hybrid/remote considered only for standout candidates. Travel: Light travel (~1x/month) to other regional sites may be required for team-building and collaboration. Schedule: Full-time; workload expected to ramp up significantly in OctoberQ1 ahead of phased system go-lives in 2026. Occasional overtime may be required.
