As an
Experiential Graphic Designer , you’ll play a key role in bringing environments to life through creative, immersive design. From wayfinding systems and signage to brand experiences and placemaking, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to craft thoughtful, high-impact solutions for the built environment. This role also supports project management and business development efforts within our Experiential Graphic Design (XGD) Studio.
Responsibilities
Develop creative, strategic design solutions for experiential graphics, wayfinding, signage, branded environments, exhibits, and placemaking
Lead and support the design process from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with client goals, timelines, and fabrication budgets
Conduct user research and wayfinding analysis to inform planning and design decisions
Manage project schedules, deliverables, and client communication to meet quality, scope, and profitability targets
Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and vendors to execute complex, multi-phase projects
Contribute to business development efforts, including RFP responses, proposal development, and interviews
Serve as the client lead on selected projects, delivering outstanding design outcomes on time and within budget
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Experiential Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
5–10 years of relevant professional experience in experiential graphic design, wayfinding, signage systems, branded environments, or related fields
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, and other industry tools (familiarity with SignAgent is a plus)
Strong knowledge of design principles and production techniques for graphics and signage
Strong knowledge of building materials and construction methods relevant to signage and environmental graphics
Strong knowledge of business development processes, marketing strategy, and client engagement
Strong knowledge of media and communication strategies for visual storytelling
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing complex design projects from concept through fabrication
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative ideation skills
Exceptional time management, organizational, and communication abilities
A track record of contributing to award-winning work
Ability to travel for client meetings and site visits as needed
Compensation and Benefits Our comprehensive benefits at DLR Group include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, flex spending, paid holidays, and paid time off. We also offer a 401(k) plan, employee stock ownership, and bonus opportunities. Compensation considerations are based on location, experience, and skills. The suggested pay range for this position is $75,000 - $130,000 USD.
