HDR is seeking a Traffic Design Specialist to expand our services in the Midwest, focusing on Kansas and Missouri. This role reports to the MO-KS Traffic Section and primarily involves traffic and ITS design. The successful candidate will plan, execute, and monitor all aspects of traffic design projects, which may include: Traffic signal and interconnect plans ITS, fiber, and communications plans Railroad signaling plans Transit signal plans Signing and pavement-marking plans Freeway guide signing plans Complete Streets / Quick-build improvement plans Electric vehicle charging infrastructure plans Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technology field 10-20 years of relevant experience in traffic and technology design Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Preference for local candidates #LI-MV3 Required Qualifications Associate's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience At least 5 years of engineering experience in the relevant discipline Hands-on experience with discipline-specific computer applications Knowledge of industry standards relevant to the discipline Proficiency in Microsoft Office Good verbal and written communication skills Active participation in our employee-owned culture is essential What We Believe HDR values diverse perspectives and experiences, which help us make great things possible every day.
