We believe that technology can create a brighter future, and we are constantly on the lookout for the most innovative and bold ideas. at Long Journey. And yeswe are aware a venture capital firm isnt in the business of transmuting lead into gold. But we are in the business of transformation. Thats why this role makes sense. Let us explain. At Long Journey, we are the second believers in the magically weird. We back founders the first believers who dare to take fragile, absurd ideas and make them inevitable. We partner with them at the earliest, most unpolished moments of their journey, when belief itself is the fuel. But belief alone isnt enough. We also need clarity, care, and coordination to channel the energy and voice of our team into the world. Thats where you come in. Why Alchemist? Because this role is about practicing two distinct, but deeply connected, kinds of transformation: 1. Executive Alchemy (about 60%) With Cyan (General Partner, investor, and leader of our Wayfinder program), youll be the guardian of time and the synthesizer of priorities. Think: bending schedules, inboxes, and projects into alignment. Youll protect her focus like a rare metal, shape the swirl of travel, inboxes, and meetings into something precise, and ensure her best energy is spent on her most important work. 2. Story & Brand Alchemy (about 40%) With Mike (Head of Platform, oversees brand, experiences, portfolio success) and Cyan, youll turn the raw materials of our community magically weird founders, hot takes, absurd investment memos, transformational experiences into stories that shine. Youll help shape Long Journeys voice, giving texture and resonance to our world so founders understand our soul. Responsibilities General Partner Executive Support + Calendar/Inbox Management (60%) Own and thoughtfully manage Cyans calendar with precisionprioritizing what truly matters and creating space for her to focus on high-leverage work. Oversee Cyans inbox by triaging messages, drafting clear and discreet responses, and communicating on her behalf with excellent judgment. Coordinate complex logistics for meetings, events, and traveloften spanning multiple time zones and collaborators. This will include attending meetings, events, and travel alongside Cyan to ensure seamless support. Act as a critical communication and coordination partner to align Cyans time, energy, and attention with her strategic priorities and evolving goals. Write clear, compelling messaging and create presentations that effectively communicate Cyans ideas and initiatives Documentation and Storytelling (30%) Capture moments, insights, and ideas from conversations, live sessions, events turn them into compelling media, podcasts, blog posts, social / website content, newsletters. Support storytelling for the firm by drafting and refining public-facing content that authentically captures our voice and deeply engages the Long Journey community. Engage thoughtfully with community platforms to foster meaningful connection and depth, prioritizing resonance over noise. Curate and manage resources and collaborators for storytelling and content initiatives Measure success and track engagement from content initiatives. Project Management for Brand Initiatives (10%) Drive forward and operationalize firm projects related to marketing and brand (manage project plans for the wild and wacky projects that Mike and Cyan come up with) Anticipate emerging opportunities and challenges within projects, proactively adapting plans and rallying resources to keep initiatives on course.
