Some weeks will be 0 hours, some weeks be 15+ hours.Duration: Ad-hoc/Project-based ongoing, long-termCompensation Range: $45 - $55/hr W2We are seeking a flexible and highly skilled Desktop Publisher / Design Specialist to support the production of two flagship economic publications. This is a part-time, ad-hoc contractor role that requires on-site presence during critical production periods. You will be responsible for the layout and design of complex reports filled with charts, tables, and data visualizations. A key part of your role will involve transitioning the team's workflow from Microsoft Publisher to Adobe InDesign.Responsibilities: Manage the layout and design of large, data-heavy economic reports. Transition design workflow and templates from Microsoft Publisher to Adobe InDesign. Handle rapid, last-minute revisions and collaborate closely with authors and editors. Be available to work on-site in Washington, D.C. during critical, fast-paced periods as needed. Qualifications: Expertise in Adobe InDesign and experience with complex document layouts. A true Freelancer- The ability and expertise to work on an ad-hoc, flexible, project-based schedule. Strong attention to detail, especially when handling data and visual elements. Project Management- working with multiple teams and contacts to resolve edits and provide solutions to their projects. Must be able to work on-site during designated critical periods as needed.
