Job Description
Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver mechanical equipment designs and layouts using AutoCAD® 2023 and Inventor 2023, ensuring compliance with Company drafting standards. * Produce and maintain detailed drawing packages, build packages, machine part lists, illustrations, and equipment specifications for production systems. * Assemble comprehensive machine design packages by reviewing and updating existing packages, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation. * Redesign mechanical components to reduce installation costs, resolve equipment interferences, and correct design deficiencies. * Review, redline, and oversee updates to installation documentation and drawings, collaborating with drafting teams to resolve design issues efficiently. * Execute design changes to address equipment or process challenges, ensuring all designs meet functional and performance requirements. * Perform elementary design calculations (e.g., statics, hydraulics, power transmission) to support both new designs and modifications of existing systems. * Collaborate with internal stakeholders and project managers to ensure designs meet project goals and customer expectations. * Provide detailed sketches and marked-up drawings to address evolving project needs.
Job Requirements
Required Skills: * Proficiency with AutoCAD® 2023, Inventor 2023, and related CAD software tools. * In-depth understanding of mechanical drive trains, electrical and pneumatic actuators, and system integration. * Expertise in preparing complete drawing packages, from assembly to detailed drawings, for industrial equipment. * Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and experience interpreting pneumatic and electrical schematics. * Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including machining and fabrication, to ensure efficient and practical designs.
Education: * Associate's degree (AAS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
