ABOUT OUR COMPANY

Civic Media has built a state-wide radio and digital media network in Wisconsin with the goal of championing the practice of democracy by empowering honest and informative local voices. We’re merging the legacy of radio with the immediacy of digital to deliver high-quality content to a growing audience via our 24 radio stations, websites, mobile app and associated social media platforms. SUMMARY

We're seeking a dynamic Marketing Specialist to serve as a true strategic partner in elevating awareness of our radio stations across the Midwest. This role offers the opportunity to shape brand voice, drive digital innovation, and directly impact marketing strategy for our radio portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Brand & Content Leadership:
    1. Craft and maintain distinctive brand voices for multiple radio stations across Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota through social media channels
    2. Create, write, and edit engaging newsletters that connect with our audiences
    3. Update and maintain content on WordPress platforms, including troubleshooting and bug fixes
  • Digital Innovation & Strategy:
    1. Research and evaluate AI agents and automation tools to streamline marketing operations
    2. Participate in high-level strategy meetings with key stakeholders and leadership team
    3. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to drive marketing effectiveness
  • Media Planning & Execution
    1. Execute media buying strategies across outdoor advertising and programmatic platforms
    2. Analyze performance and optimize campaigns for maximum ROI
    3. Coordinate multi-channel campaigns that amplify our radio brands
  • Technical Marketing Operations
    1. Work in WordPress backend systems to maintain site functionality and user experience
    2. Implement and manage martech solutions to support campaign execution

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCES

  • Social media management experience (Bluesky, X, Meta, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Bachelor’s degree Marketing, Communication, or related field
  • Exhibit knowledge and awareness of the radio industry
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated skills in the successful completion of multiple, simultaneous and rapidly emergent tasks
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with management, business units, vendors, suppliers, and customers
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
