About the Role: Employ is seeking an SEO & GEO Lead to drive strategy and execution that drives search visibility, traffic, and lead generation. The ideal candidate brings deep SEO/GEO expertise, strong content and analytics skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams while serving as Employ’s in-house expert. The ideal SEO & GEO Lead is equal parts strategist and executor, someone who can set a comprehensive SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategy and roll up their sleeves to bring it to life every day. This role will be critical to driving measurable improvements in organic search visibility, keyword rankings, inbound traffic, and lead generation. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in today’s SEO and GEO best practices, proven experience writing highly effective, conversion-driven copy, and thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Beyond technical SEO skills, this person is a strong communicator and collaborator, able to influence partners across teams, uncover actionable insights through data, and establish themselves as the go-to SEO and GEO expert within Employ.

What you’ll be doing:
- Build and own Employ’s SEO & GEO roadmap across technical, on-page, off-page, local, and AI-driven search initiatives.
- Drive keyword strategy, geographic targeting, and competitive analysis to maximize visibility in both traditional search and AI-generated answers.
- Embed SEO/GEO best practices into all digital content (web pages, landing pages, blogs, campaigns), writing and optimizing high-quality, conversion-focused copy and briefs as needed.
- Develop backlink strategies, strengthen domain authority, and leverage structured data, schema, and semantic content to improve discoverability.
- Monitor and optimize Employ’s presence across AI-powered platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Bing Copilot, Google Gemini).
- Identifynew content opportunities to capture high-intent traffic and increase topical authority.
- Track and report on SEO KPIs (traffic, CTR, rankings, conversions) and GEO metrics (mentions, impressions, AI-driven traffic).
- Conduct analysis to uncover insights, refine strategies, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
- Partner cross-functionally with Content, Web, Performance, Product Marketing, and Brand teams to align efforts and ensure execution.
- Stay ahead of algorithm updates and AI search trends, experimenting with new tools and strategies to keep Employ at the forefront.
What you’ll bring:
- 8+ years of professional experience in SEO strategy and execution, including GEO and SEO.
- Proven success driving measurable improvements in keyword rankings, organic traffic, and inbound leads.
- Exceptional copywriting skills with the ability to create compelling, SEO-driven content across formats.
- Advanced expertise with SEO tools and platforms (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Moz, BrightEdge, or similar).
- Strong data analysis skills, including experience with Google Analytics, Looker/Tableau, or other BI tools.
- Hands-on experience with data querying (SQL or similar) a strong plus.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with high expectations for output and productivity.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proven ability to influence cross-functional partners.
- Strong understanding of technical SEO fundamentals, including site architecture, schema markup, and Core Web Vitals.
