WCIV is seeking a Digital/Social Media Executive Producer who can craft creative and impactful content across various topics and manage a team of journalists to ensure the most current and accurate information is featured on our website and social media platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of AP-style writing, a creative eye for social media content creation, video editing skills, strong newsgathering abilities, and a commitment to ethical reporting. We desire a leader who can guide us through growth in the digital storytelling landscape. This role involves writing stories, editing team members' work for our website and app, and overseeing our YouTube channel (with 233k subscribers), Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Threads, and Bluesky accounts. Responsibilities: Create engaging social media posts to connect with and grow our audience Collaborate with reporters and meteorologists to produce video content for social media Develop coverage strategies for the Digital Team during significant Charleston events (e.g., Cooper River Bridge Run, Mother Emanuel Remembrance) Explore new techniques and platforms to increase content visibility Identify and pursue news stories Contact sources and authorities to generate and verify stories Manage schedules for the Digital Team Maintain a consistent posting schedule across all social media channels Ensure accuracy and compelling storytelling in writing Monitor scanners, react to breaking news, conduct beat checks, and oversee web and social media developments Develop and sustain contacts and sources for story ideas Assist in the efficient operation of the assignment desk Sinclair is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace.
