Overview
Sinclair’s DC Bureau has an opening for a News Photographer/Editor. We are looking for a creative visual storyteller who can capture video images for use on multiple platforms that involve issues affecting the entire nation. This storyteller will also be doing live shots for multiple stations that are part of Sinclair nationwide. This position requires television news shooting and editing experience with ENG equipment. You should have two (2) years of experience with a network, cable or network affiliate TV news organization. We need a photographer who has exceptional video editing skills. You will cover day-to-day general, in-depth, features and investigative assignments, especially issues involving Congress. We are shooting full HD on media cards and editing on desktops and laptops. You should have strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems, have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record, possess excellent people skills, a strong work ethic and have a great attitude. A passion for storytelling is absolutely essential in this position.
Responsibilities
- Shooting and editing day-to-day general assignment stories, in-depth features and investigative assignments
- Shooting and lighting interviews in studio and in the field
- Shooting and lighting live spots in studio and in the field
Required Skills
- Television news shooting and editing experience with ENG equipment
- Two (2) years' experience with a network, cable or network affiliate TV news organization
- Impeccable video editing skills (experience editing on Adobe Premiere Pro is a plus)
- Basic graphics skills (Adobe After Effects experience a plus)
- Superior audio skills
- Studio and field lighting experience
- Excellent transmission experience (fiber, LiveU, sat truck)
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Ability to travel
- Aggressive team-player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines
- Possesses troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be able to operate ENG news vehicles
- Must be able to lift and carry between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis
