Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Audio Visual (AV) Technician to support the technical operations of a large-scale immersive mixed reality experience in Las Vegas. This role involves the setup, maintenance, and operation of AV and interactive systems, including projection, audio, lighting, and VR hardware, to ensure guests experience a seamless, high-quality journey through our immersive environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, resourceful, and passionate about emerging technology and experiential storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Support set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV systems including audio playback, projection, video routing, and lighting control
- Support and maintain virtual reality hardware including headsets, sensors, controllers, base stations, and wearables
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all show-critical systems to ensure continuous uptime
- Calibrate and reset mixed reality equipment and environments to ensure accurate tracking and synchronization
- Assist with show operation, cue execution, and guest technical support during live experiences
- Monitor system performance and report technical issues promptly to the Technical Manager
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-labeled equipment racks, cable runs, and tech spaces
- Collaborate with creative, technical, and front-of-house teams to maintain a consistent and immersive guest experience
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, inventory, and technical documentation
- Adhere to safety protocols and contribute to a culture of operational excellence
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in audio/visual installation, live entertainment, themed attractions, or immersive experiences
- Familiarity with virtual reality headsets (Meta Quest) and tracking systems (Anti-Latency)
- Strong knowledge of AV signal flow, basic networking, and live show support
- Hands-on experience with audio mixers, lighting systems (e.g., ETC, DMX), and control platforms (e.g., Crestron, QSys, TouchDesigner)
- Ability to diagnose and repair basic technical issues in both AV and VR equipment
- Proficiency with tools and comfort working with cabling, mounts, and custom rigging
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the production schedule
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain preferred
