What you can expect to do in this role

As an Assistant Community Manager, you will work with the on-site Community Manager to help meet revenue and profit targets while maintaining high standards of customer service and resident retention. You will support the property's accounting needs and leasing policies and help cultivate a positive resident experience. This role reports to the Community Manager and offers potential for advancement within the Property Management team.

Responsibilities

  • Accounting & Bookkeeping
    • Maintain all property accounting and reporting, including collecting and posting rent, financial and leasing reports, month-end close, bank deposits, and ensuring a balanced rent roll.
    • Prepare monthly close-out and financial reports.
    • Process invoices for payment.
    • Collect rent, fees, and other payments.
    • Complete bank deposits, dispositions, and account reconciliations.
    • Use property management software such as Yardi to record, track, and report on all financials for the community.
  • Customer Service & Sales
    • Use leasing and sales experience to lease apartments.
    • Promote resident satisfaction and retention by promptly responding to complaints, questions, and requests.
    • Take appropriate action to resolve service issues.
  • Teamwork
    • Mentor and guide the leasing team with regard to leasing, closing, marketing, and resident retention.
    • Collaborate with the Community Manager on all property operations.

What you'll need on day one

  • Minimum of one year of residential leasing, sales, and/or property management experience.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience using Yardi or other property management accounting software.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong math and accounting skills.
  • Understanding of financial statements (budgets, financial reports, accounting information).
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local fair housing laws and provisions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license may be required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and some holidays.

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated pay: $22.00 - $24.75 per hour. This position is non-exempt. The pay range reflects hourly rates and may vary by skills, location, and job complexity.
