✈️ Mechanical Designer – Aerospace Manufacturing
Location: Medford, OR (Onsite)
Duration: 18-month contract
Overview:
A growing aerospace engineering team is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the development of aircraft systems, assemblies, and components. This role is ideal for a hands-on CAD professional with extensive SolidWorks experience and a strong background in design for manufacturing, particularly within regulated aerospace or defense environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and model mechanical components, systems, and assemblies in SolidWorks
Create 2D/3D drawings, BOMs, layout studies, and technical documentation to FAA/AS9100 standards
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to optimize designs for performance and manufacturability
Conduct tolerance stack-ups and ensure compliance with GD&T practices
Participate in prototyping, installation fit checks, and shop floor validation
Support lifecycle processes including design reviews, change management, and production engineering
Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation per internal and regulatory standards
Qualifications:
3–5+ years of mechanical design experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing settings
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (required); experience with AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar tools a plus
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or equivalent experience
Strong understanding of DFM, GD&T, and engineering documentation practices
Prior experience with aircraft structures, assemblies, or FAA-regulated projects preferred
Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and strong team collaboration skills

Onsite position; must be able to work from the production facility in Medford, OR
Must be able to obtain any required background clearances
