What We Need
As the Director of User Experience, you will be a key leader in shaping the future of iHeartMedia's consumer digital products. You will be responsible for defining and driving the overall UX strategy across all iHeart's platforms, including iHeartRadio, podcasts, and other digital experiences. This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of user-centered design, and the ability to inspire and manage a team of talented UX designers and researchers. You will be a champion for the user, ensuring that every digital interaction is intuitive, engaging, and personal.
What You'll Do
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and own the UX vision and strategy, aligning it with company goals and business objectives.
- Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing UX team. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Design and Research Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the user experience design process, from research and discovery to prototyping, testing, and implementation. Ensure the team uses effective methodologies to gather user insights and translate them into actionable design outcomes.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, marketers, and data analysts, to ensure a cohesive and delightful user experience. Effectively communicate design rationales, research findings, and UX strategy to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Advocacy and Thought Leadership: Champion design thinking and user-centricity throughout the company. Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to provide thought leadership and drive innovation.
- Problem-Solving: Solve complex design challenges across a variety of platforms, including mobile, web, and emerging technologies like voice and in-car experiences.
What You'll Need
- BA/BS degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Science, or a related technical field required.
- 10+ years in Digital UX/UI/product design, working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, content, and user research teams.
- 5+ years in a senior UX leadership role, with a track record of mentoring a UX team.
- Passion for leveraging AI to improve efficiency, streamlining prototyping, and staying ahead of design and workflow tools.
- Expert proficiency with Figma and design systems.
- Extensive experience with end-to-end user-centered design, including research, prototyping, and usability testing.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating user-centric design solutions to complex challenges.
- Expert knowledge of mobile UX principles across iOS, Android, and web; experience in connected TV, automotive, gaming, and voice platforms is a plus.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- A passion for music, audio, and the digital media space.
