Mindlink is seeking a qualified and culturally responsive American Sign Language (ASL) Community Interpreter to support Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community members in the Portland/Vancouver area. This role includes both onsite interpretation and remote video interpretation for virtual meetings and educational sessions.

Mindlink is seeking a qualified and culturally responsive American Sign Language (ASL) Community Interpreter to support Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community members in the Portland/Vancouver area. This role includes both onsite interpretation and remote video interpretation for virtual meetings and educational sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and culturally appropriate ASL interpretation during events.
- Deliver services both in-person and via secure video platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards of practice.
- Collaborate with educators, specialists, and administrators to ensure meaningful access for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students.
- Use tools such as LinguistLink for scheduling, feedback.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues during video sessions.
- Minimum 3 years of professional ASL interpreting experience.
- Verified third-party ASL proficiency.
- Ability to work in a secure, quiet environment for remote interpretation.
- Certification from RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) or equivalent.
- Experience in K-12 educational settings, especially with IEPs and special education services.
- Familiarity with video conferencing platforms and interpretation equipment.
- Reliable high-speed internet.
- Professional headset and webcam.
- Secure and quiet workspace.
