\n\nPosition is located out of our Charlotte, North Carolina District Office.
\n\nUnder the guidance of the Design Manager, the Fire Sprinkler designer will assist in the preparation of NFPA compliant fire sprinkler shop drawings utilizing AutoCAD. This position will require the building of knowledge dealing with the selection of fire sprinkler system components, hazard analysis, fluid hydraulics, interpretation of code compliance requirements, and industry standards for the installation of fire protection systems. The candidate will assist in surveying existing fire protection systems, drawing preparation, material listing, and field survey as required to successfully install fire sprinkler systems. This position requires an eager and motivated team player with a positive, professional attitude and demeanor.

\n\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Knowledge of fire protection design principles, hydraulics, materials, and building construction is required. \n
- Review drawings for code compliance, specifications, and technical oversight. \n
- Produce project drawings, specifications, as-builts, and all other documents required to support the installation of Fire Sprinkler Systems. \n
- Work with project managers, architects, and engineers to understand project requirements, address design issues, and ensure deadlines are met while meeting budgets. \n
- Prepare and submit design documentation to local authorities and jurisdictions (AHJs) for review and approval. \n
- Maintain project drawing files, associated records, and documentation tracking. \n
- Visit construction sites to gather necessary information, verify design accuracy, and assist in troubleshooting during installation. \n
- Coordinate project needs with sales and managers overseeing code compliance and design. \n
- Generate detailed and accurate lists of all materials and components needed for the project. \n
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
\n\n- \n
- 5+ years of fire sprinkler design experience. \n
- NICET II Certification or greater preferred. \n
- Mechanical and mathematical aptitude with strong desire to excel. \n
- Proven Autocad 2018 or higher proficiency and ability to learn new software, with knowledge of AutoSPRINK software preferred. \n
- Continue to expand knowledge in the field of fire protection by on-the-job training and self-direction. \n
- Capability to present information and respond to questions from field foreman, managers, customers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction. \n
- Demonstrated competency in verbal and written business communication skills. \n
- Strong work ethic and professional appearance. \n
- Collaborative mindset with a commitment to customer satisfaction. \n
- Travel within the district is required. \n
- Possess a valid driver’s license and meet company driving requirements. \n
