We are looking for a Service Writer to support our in-house mechanic shop and keep our fleet running smoothly. This role is critical in coordinating repairs, tracking maintenance, and ensuring our drivers and equipment are always ready to go.
Responsibilities:
- Open, update, and close repair orders for company vehicles.
- Communicate service needs between drivers, management, and mechanics.
- Maintain accurate service logs, work orders, and parts records.
- Schedule preventative maintenance and track upcoming service intervals.
- Provide cost estimates for parts and repairs and get approval before work begins.
- Ensure timely turnaround of vehicles to minimize downtime.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Service Writer, Fleet Service Coordinator, or similar role preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance, DOT requirements, and repair processes is a plus.
- Computer proficiency and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced shop environment.
