Varsity Tutors' Live Learning Platform is seeking a Writing Tutor specializing in Expository Writing. As a tutor on the platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

• Tutor online using the Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform and deliver engaging, student-focused instruction.


• Provide personalized, 1-on-1 instruction and accept on-demand tutoring requests as they arise.


• Match with students whose needs align with your teaching style and expertise.


• Prepare and deliver lessons; leverage AI-powered tools to save prep time and enhance engagement.


• Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments and logistics.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.


• Expertise in Expository Writing with the ability to explain concepts clearly.


• Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.


• Experience tutoring or teaching; graduate-level education preferred.

Benefits

• Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can increase for specialized subjects, with potential rates up to $40/hour for ongoing student relationships.
