Associate Producer

The Associate Producer, reporting to our Coordinating Producers, onsite at our headquarters in West Chester, PA is responsible for both pre-production and studio production tasks surrounding shows they are assigned to produce. You will lead members of the production team during their assigned shows while working with members of the talent team in the execution of their studio productions. They are also responsible for coordinating elements (i.e.: script activation, customer phone calls, social components) that impact on-air presentations.

Candidates need to be available to work any day of the week, and comfortable working both day and night shifts.

Your Impact

  • Partner with members of Category Production to align on production plans to ensure established sales strategies are executable.
  • Contact on-air guests and vendors prior to their appearance to review production strategies for upcoming presentations. This includes as needed, executing the preparation and quality control of our On-Air Guest Skypes, guest testimonial calls, highlighting product within our sales system and producing .COM hits as well as some social media activity for the live show.
  • Prepare for each assigned show by reviewing production support at both the item level (i.e.: review graphic /video support, video for individual presentations) and show level (i.e.: show open, music selections) to ensure overall production value can be met.
  • Communicate production plan to members of the production team via notes placed in the corresponding broadcast PAL and/or OneNote.
  • Identify and communicate necessary production requests (i.e.: specialty cameras, lighting needs) to members of the operations team.
  • Following assigned productions pass along feedback/recommended changes surrounding on-air presentations/overall production value to partners in Category Production and Studio Production.
  • Following assigned productions review viewership data with management team to evaluate production elements that increased viewership/engagement within our existing customer base; discuss, determine and implement next steps surrounding data.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in television/media production or related field.
  • Undergraduate degree in Television/Media Production, Communications or a related field is required, and a working knowledge of a live studio environment.
  • Working knowledge of QVC sales and information systems (i.e.: QBIS, Active Scoreboard, VRU)
