Job Description:
As a Digital Accessibility Web Developer, you will be responsible for remediating critical accessibility issues across public-facing websites, applications, forms, and digital platforms. You will apply expert-level web development skills in HTML, CSS, ARIA, and JavaScript to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Apply accessibility fixes to front-end code and markup issues identified through audits Modify and restructure HTML, CSS, and ARIA to meet WCAG 2.1 standards Remediate issues within CMS platforms such as Sitecore, Salesforce, and WordPress Support content and design teams with accessibility guidance for documents and embedded media Use defect tracking tools like JIRA to manage tickets and document fixes Collaborate with accessibility testers and content strategists to validate remediated work Share remediation patterns and best practices with development teams Work iteratively in agile sprints to address prioritized accessibility tickets
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field 4+ years of experience remediating digital accessibility issues Strong coding experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ARIA markup Working knowledge of Sitecore and Salesforce platforms Familiarity with Biznet applications, AWS infrastructure, and enterprise back-end platforms Ability to interpret automated and manual testing results (e.g., Axe, ANDI, NVDA, JAWS) Expert knowledge of WCAG 2.1 standards and assistive technology interactions Proficiency in CMS templates, JavaScript frameworks, backend API configuration, and UI libraries Experience troubleshooting keyboard traps, focus management, and responsive layouts Strong ability to manage remediation tickets and track progress in JIRA Excellent communication and documentation skills
Desired Certifications:
IAAP WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist) - strongly preferred IAAP CPACC DHS Trusted Tester Certification Deque University Developer Track Certificate Salesforce Accessibility Champion or similar
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $70.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
