Job Description:NOTE: This role is based in NYC and requires a minimum of three days a week in the SoHo, NY Office.*The role will be in the office 5 days a week for the first 6 months for training purposes. After 6 months the job will become hybrid.THE OPPORTUNITYThe Production Editor organizes and oversees the accurate and timely production of Scholastic classroom magazines from layout through prepress and then on to digital implementation. The role involves close work in InDesign layouts ensuring design accuracy, consistent formatting, and adherence to established department styles; trafficking assets; preparing layout files for press and digital publishing. This includes all aspects of working in layouts for desktop publishing: building and formatting pages, creating and using style sheets, importing and styling text, importing images, making layout adjustments; pre-flighting files to identify possible printing issuesKnowledge and understanding of desktop publishing printing process.
