Vehicle Product Design Architecture, Integration Lead
USA Tech Recruit, Palo Alto, California, United States, 94306
Overview
We are working with a cutting-edge electric mobility startup founded by a team of experienced engineers, designers, and entrepreneurs. Their focus is on building small, highly efficient electric vehicles that address today’s most pressing mobility challenges. Their mission is to inspire people to move differently — replacing short car and truck trips with more enjoyable, affordable, and ultra-efficient electric rides.
Role We are looking for a senior mechanical engineer with 7+ years of experience in mechanical design and system integration, ideally within vehicle or mobility-related platforms. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in 3D CAD (with preference for CATIA) and has demonstrated capability managing complex, top-level assemblies in a PLM environment. Experience driving complex systems from conception through to production launch is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and manage complete CAD assemblies for vehicle-scale platforms, with emphasis on occupant packaging and subsystem integration
Lead cross-functional collaboration to resolve packaging challenges and optimize designs for performance and manufacturability
Develop and drive system integration processes to enable rapid development in a fast-paced environment
Support the transition from prototype to production by coordinating with supply chain and manufacturing teams
Key Qualifications:
7+ years of experience delivering vehicle or complex mechanical systems from concept through launch
Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD (CATIA preferred) and PLM tools for large assembly management
Strong mechanical engineering foundation with understanding of structural design and packaging trade-offs
Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and excellent communication skills, including executive-level presentations
Background in automotive, powersports, off-road or similar platforms, with understanding of manufacturing requirements
Why Join:
End-to-end ownership:
Architect entire mechanical platforms from blank sheet through production, working directly with senior technical leadership
Timing:
Backed by substantial funding in a rapidly growing market segment (small-format electric mobility)
Team:
Work alongside a highly experienced, low-hierarchy engineering team where technical voices are prioritized and individual impact is high
3D CAD (CATIA preferred), PLM systems
