The Casting Director is responsible for identifying, auditioning, and selecting talent for roles in film, television, theater, or commercials. They work closely with producers, directors, and writers to understand character breakdowns and ensure that the selected actors align with the creative vision of the project. The Casting Director manages all aspects of the casting process, from creating casting calls to negotiating contracts. Responsibilities

Collaborate with producers, directors, and writers to understand the casting needs and character profiles. Prepare character breakdowns and distribute casting calls to agents, managers, and the public. Organize and conduct auditions, screen tests, and callbacks. Maintain a database of actors and industry contacts. Provide casting suggestions based on experience, screen presence, chemistry, and availability. Negotiate contracts and schedules with talent agents and legal teams. Ensure diversity and inclusion are considered in the casting process. Coordinate logistics for casting sessions, including studio bookings, reader selection, and filming auditions. Stay current with trends in acting and discover emerging talent. Manage casting budgets and timelines. Requirements

Proven experience as a Casting Director, Casting Associate, or similar role. In-depth knowledge of the acting industry and talent representation. Strong eye for talent and ability to assess acting ability. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented and highly organized. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Familiarity with casting platforms (e.g., Casting Networks, Breakdown Services). Knowledge of union guidelines (e.g., SAG-AFTRA, Equity) preferred. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Film, Theater, Communications, or a related field. Experience across multiple formats (TV, film, theater, digital media). Existing network of talent agents and managers. Bilingual - Chinese / English Salary Range:

$100,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on experience.
