Architect and optimize data centers specifically tailored for AI/ML workloads, encompassing everything from the network infrastructure/rack layouts, selection/integration of hardware accelerators. Evaluate emerging technologies across the IT stack (servers, storage, networking, cooling) and apply industry standards and practices. Partner with internal teams to identify and resolve performance issues in production environments; analyze system-level metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement and implement solutions that optimize resource utilization, reduce latency, and increase throughput. Build relationships with hardware partners to understand their technology roadmaps and product development cycles; provide feedback on requirements and use cases to influence future generations of network equipment, server racks, and accelerators. Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience in data center design and engineering. Preferred qualifications
Knowledge of core design and engineering principles, with emphasis on IT and data center infrastructure. Ability to deliver quality designs on time and provide ongoing support throughout the product life-cycle. Ability to work independently and proactively under minimal supervision. Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with attention to detail. About the job

Our lab mirrors a research and development department—cutting-edge strategies are born, tested and refined. You will work with a team to tackle topics like power usage and environmentally-friendly facilities, optimizing for efficiencies and driving improvements. You will generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives, and drive implementation with facilities technicians. You will ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements, and serve as an expert in areas such as cooling or electrical. The Technical Infrastructure team keeps Google online by building and maintaining data centers and supporting our platforms, while ensuring fast, reliable user experiences. Compensation: The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$211,000 plus bonus, equity and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location; specific ranges for your preferred location will be shared by your recruiter during the hiring process.
