YOUR ROLE As Crossmedia’s Chief Media Officer (CMO), you will lead and unify the end-to-end media function, overseeing strategic planning and investment. You will drive a holistic, full-funnel media strategy that delivers innovation, efficiency, and performance across all paid media channels—from upstream planning to downstream activation. You will shape how media delivers value for clients and growth for the agency. You will oversee the agency’s complete media planning and buying strategy, guiding a team of integrated media professionals to deliver cross-channel excellence. Responsibilities include audience-driven planning, market analysis, vendor negotiations, and campaign optimization to achieve business objectives. The role requires deep expertise across Video/CTV, Local TV/Audio, OOH/Print, Display, Native, Social, Search, and Programmatic, with the ability to translate insights into high-performance investment outcomes. You will drive the evolution of the agency’s media product—from development through execution and measurement—ensuring insights-led, integrated solutions grounded in audience intelligence and a channel-agnostic approach. You will collaborate with client leadership, analytics, and activation teams to connect strategy to scalable, measurable execution. You bring a unique blend of leadership, organizational acumen, and industry expertise. You are comfortable defining a media vision and executing it, with strong interpersonal skills, strategic problem-solving, and a collaborative, excellence-driven mindset. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the development and execution of integrated media planning and buying strategies across Video/CTV, Local TV/Audio, OOH/Print, Display, Native, Social, Search, and Programmatic. Develop data-driven, audience-first media plans and innovative buying approaches that deliver measurable client value. Build and maintain senior-level partnerships with media vendors, platforms, and technology providers to maximize value. Advise internal teams and clients on market dynamics, deal structures, pricing models, and platform innovations. Evolve procurement practices to achieve optimal rates while maintaining neutrality, transparency, and client opt-in. Lead integration of consumer experiences across traditional and digital platforms. Use data and analytics to develop audience insights that inform media planning and buying strategies. Drive operational efficiency through process audits and automation. Oversee development, testing, and optimization of new media products across traditional and retail channels. Stay informed about emerging media trends and best practices, and incorporate them into strategies. Collaborate with clients to align media solutions with business objectives and performance KPIs. LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT Act as a visionary leader and agency ambassador, championing thought leadership, client innovation, and best practices. Foster transparency and collaboration across teams and stakeholders. Partner with Executive Client Directors to align media strategy with client goals. Drive revenue growth, client retention, and new business development. Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing media team, emphasizing accountability and continuous learning. Lead with humility, positivity, and a forward-thinking mindset to elevate culture and outcomes. REQUIREMENTS 20+ years of cross-channel media experience across digital, linear, programmatic, and emerging platforms. Strategic thinker with a track record in guiding investment strategy, pricing models, and ROI-driven decisions. Well-connected with trusted vendor relationships and the ability to unlock high-value opportunities. Passionate about innovation and experimentation, continuously advancing new solutions that solve business problems. Fluent in media technology, analytics platforms, and tools used to execute, measure, and optimize performance. Ability to translate market trends and audience data into bold, actionable strategies. Creative problem-solver with a bias for outcomes and client needs. Respected leader with industry presence through councils, speaking engagements, and media. Proven people leader with a track record of building and mentoring teams. Entrepreneurial, collaborative, and comfortable in fast-paced environments where ideas move quickly. Adept at defining scalable processes and delivering consistent performance at scale. Effective communicator who crafts clear business narratives from strategy to execution. Emotionally intelligent and solution-oriented, able to influence internal teams, clients, and partners. Bold yet client-focused, with a commitment to measurable outcomes. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary range: $325k – $350k + bonus. Compensation is determined based on skills, qualifications, and tenure. This role requires proximity to our NY office with a hybrid work setting.
