UI Engineer III – Quality & Automation
role at CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike is seeking a UI Engineer with a Quality/Automation focus who is skilled in technical aspects, collaborative in nature, and deeply passionate about advancing CrowdStrike's NG-SIEM vision. In this role, you will apply your extensive knowledge and expertise in UI engineering to contribute to the development of CrowdStrike's investigation, detection, and prevention technologies within the XDR, endpoint, SIEM, and SOAR markets. You will leverage your existing skills in UI engineering to introduce significant new features and enhancements while maintaining the highest standards of quality through comprehensive testing strategies and automation. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to interact and influence cross-functional teams across the company.
What You’ll Do
Build and maintain single page web applications written in JavaScript using Ember.js
Participate in the code review process for your own code and that of your fellow engineers
Take initiative and build tools that improve your teams development experience
Design and implement comprehensive automated test strategies for your code, UI components, and user workflows
Design and implement automated test strategies for UI components and user workflows
Conduct exploratory testing using risk-based approaches to identify edge cases and usability issues
Build and maintain test automation frameworks and tooling for the team
Review technical design documents with a quality-first mindset and provide testability recommendations
Champion quality initiatives and drive testing best practices across the development process
Collaborate with fellow UX Engineers, Cloud Engineers, UX Designers, UX Writers, Technical Writers, User Researchers, QA Analysts, Product Managers, and others
Continually learn about the ever-evolving challenges and complexities of the cybersecurity industry
Have fun solving hard problems
What You’ll Need
A desire to collaborate closely with users, designers, & testers to deliver quality software that solves problems
A deep understanding of Javascript and considerable experience building thick-client applications with modern frameworks such as Ember, AngularJS, Backbone or React/Flux
Proven experience designing and implementing comprehensive test automation strategies using modern testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Jest, QUnit, Mocha)
Strong foundation in testing methodologies including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing approaches
Experience developing test automation frameworks and reusable testing utilities
Demonstrated ability to write high-quality, maintainable test code alongside production code
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing integration
Experience with exploratory testing techniques and manual testing when automation isn\'t suitable
Quality-first mindset with ability to identify potential issues early in the development cycle
Functional knowledge & interest in developing genuinely accessible interfaces
Strong HTML & CSS skills, with bonus points for experience with animation, knowledge of approaches to scalable/modular CSS, & preprocessors such as SCSS & LESS
Familiarity with client-side build processes & tools - Grunt, Gulp, Ember CLI etc
Comfortable with Git/version control workflows
Bonus Points
Experience creating or contributing to open source projects
Experience with graphics & visualization tools such as D3 or ThreeJS
Familiarity with client-side build processes and tools (e.g. Ember CLI, Webpack, etc.)
Experience with test planning and test case design
Knowledge of performance testing and optimization techniques
Experience mentoring other engineers on testing best practices
Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and methodologies
Familiarity with websocket and real-time web services
Experience with UI performance measurement and optimization
Experience with web accessibility testing and support
Prior experience in cybersecurity
