Senior Network Designer Company
: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Network Designer to join the team in Fairfax, VA; El Segundo, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; or Seal Beach, CA. This position focuses on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) business. The successful candidate will collaborate with Information Technology (IT) Business Success Leaders and BDS stakeholders to implement and maintain communications and network systems enabling the BDS business to meet organizational and program goals.
Responsibilities
Leads and performs the identification, analysis, and documentation of requirements for network LAN technologies and services (e.g., wireless, data, voice, video, cable, wire) based on customer goals, objectives, cost and security constraints, to lead the design process Collaborates with stakeholders (Transport, MAN/WAN, Structured Cabling, Project Manager, etc.) in focused, agile-inspired sprint teams Provides oversight and consultation of work intake processes, backlog and execution of requests, coordinating with IT Business leaders, Product Owners and ScrumMasters Creates and documents designs that conform to architectural and security standards to meet customer requirements, using design templates and standard implementation packages Prepares, deploys, and coordinates installation of complex implementation packages per Boeing standards Provides Level 3 Incident / Problem Management support to meet service restoration and network availability objectives, using network analysis and monitoring tools Supports and participates in component research to provide input for more comprehensive evaluation Leads and performs implementation planning for tactical multi-technology insertion projects, using established project management methodologies to control costs and ensure adherence to project plan Exercises critical thinking and innovative problem solving
Basic Qualifications (Required)
Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) within the last 5 years, or enrolled in Continuous Vetting within the last 5 years Active Counter-Intelligence or Full Scope polygraph 5+ years of experience with Cisco routers and switches & Cisco IOS implementations 5+ years of experience with design, implementation and troubleshooting of LANs and WANs 5+ years of experience utilizing TCP/IP network protocols Experience with Communications Security (COMSEC) encryption devices Ability to support after-hours change windows and implementations Willing to cover on-call shifts, including weekends and after hours
Preferred Qualifications
CCNA, CCNP or other Cisco Certification Experience with Arista networking Experience with Azure, Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Experience with Cisco CLI Experience with NTP Experience with Palo Alto next generation firewall systems and Panorama Experience with IPSEC and GRE tunnel configurations Experience with Splunk
