Overview

This position will serve as the Web Team Manager, managing professionals in a complex work area. The Web Team Manager within the Office of Communications leads and oversees a team dedicated to optimizing and maintaining the Michigan Department of Treasurys web-based communication platforms for both taxpayers and employees. Serving as the departments Webmaster, the expert in web design, strategy, and digital customer experience, this position owns all Treasury websites, ensuring accessibility, functionality, and compliance with state and federal guidelines. The Web Team Manager ensures a customer-focused approach to digital communications, working proactively to provide accurate and effective information to Treasurys diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee a team dedicated to optimizing and maintaining the Department of Treasurys web-based communication platforms for taxpayers and employees.
  • Serve as the departments Webmaster, owning all Treasury websites and ensuring accessibility, functionality, and compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Foster a customer-focused approach to digital communications and provide accurate information to diverse audiences.


Education

Possession of a bachelors degree in any major.

Experience

Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certifications

Alternative experience qualifications of nonprofessional experience, previously identified by the appointing authority and approved by Civil Service, will be accepted as a substitute for the required classified, professional experience for the classification. The nonprofessional experience must be related to departmental programs and services that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Individuals appointed must possess the department-specific alternative experience for positions within that agency only.

Official Transcripts: Official college transcripts must contain the college/university name and address, the degree conferred, and date granted, coursework completed (especially if no degree granted), the Registrar's signature and/or seal, and must be recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position prior to being appointed to the position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.

Hybrid Remote Work: This position is eligible to work remotely on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and must work onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For remote work performance, this position requires a designated, secure workspace with reliable internet access (minimum 25 Mbps download, 5 Mbps upload). Remote work arrangements are subject to management approval and may be adjusted or discontinued at any time.

Interviews: Interviews may occur virtually using Microsoft Teams. No prior experience with Teams is necessary. Instructions and tips will be provided to all candidates scheduled for an interview using Microsoft Teams.
