PCB Layout & Mechanical CAD Designer

Photon Kinetics is looking for a designer who can bridge PCB layout and mechanical CAD to support our high-performance optical test equipment. This is not a pure mechanical roleyou must have hands-on PCB layout experience along with solid mechanical design skills. Youll collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and optical engineers to turn complex requirements into reliable, manufacturable designs. What Youll Do Create and maintain PCB layouts from provided schematics (Altium preferred), optimizing for performance, manufacturability, and cost Build and update 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings (Creo preferred) for mechanical parts and assemblies Release complete documentation packages (schematics, layouts, BOMs, drawings) for manufacturing and procurement Work cross-functionally to ensure accuracy, design intent, and configuration control Maintain and improve existing PCB and mechanical designs for performance and cost Write and process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) Required Qualifications 5+ years of combined PCB layout and mechanical CAD experience Proficiency in Altium (or equivalent PCB design software) and Creo (or equivalent mechanical CAD) Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics for PCB layout/design Understanding of manufacturing processes for both machined parts and PCBs Strong cross-disciplinary design judgment and ability to manage multiple projects Preferred Qualifications Experience designing for complex, precision electronic or optical systems Familiarity with ISO-certified quality systems and documentation processes Why Join Photon Kinetics Your designs will become the backbone of test systems trusted by global fiber manufacturers Collaborative, expert team that values precision and innovation Opportunity to contribute to the next generation of optical test solutions used worldwide
