The Georgia Tech Athletic Association seeks an assistant director of communications and public relations (Communications Officer I). This position will:
Serve as the primary communications and public relations contact for Georgia Tech womens basketball and womens tennis programs
Act as a liaison between programs/coaches/student-athletes and media
Act as programs communications liaison to the ACC and NCAA
Oversee and implement programs social media strategies (in conjunction with creative & digital strategy staff)
Maintain programs presence on official website of Georgia Tech athletics (ramblinwreck.com)
Write press releases to promote programs and recap events
Write and maintain coach and student-athlete biographies
Maintain team statistics and records
Schedule photo shoots and photographers for live events; maintain programs photo archives
Nominate and promote coaches and student-athletes for awards
Act as media liaison for home events
Be required to work home and away events for those sports, as well as other home events as needed
Be required to work regular office hours, as well as night, weekend, and holiday work schedules
Assist in special projects / events as they develop
Assist in the implementation of Georgia Tech athletics overall content strategy
Other duties as assigned by associate A.D./communications and public relations
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
