Reports To: Vice President of Marketing

The Role

The Brand Marketing Director is a strategic brand leader and team builder responsible for driving Smashburger’s national and regional marketing strategies. This role will lead campaigns that elevate brand awareness, build guest loyalty, and support revenue growth across our company-owned and franchised locations. This individual will collaborate cross-functionally with culinary, operations, digital, and franchise teams to deliver integrated, innovative campaigns that fuel guest traffic and brand buzz.

What You’ll Do

  • Brand Leadership: Own and evolve the Smashburger brand voice, look, and feel across all marketing touchpoints—from digital to in-store to national campaigns.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute short- and long-term marketing plans that drive sales, traffic, and guest engagement.
  • Campaign Management: Lead all product launches, LTOs (limited time offers), seasonal promotions, and brand activations from ideation to execution.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing brand marketing team, fostering creativity, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyze marketing performance metrics and guest insights to optimize campaigns and guide strategic decisions.

What it Takes

  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, preferably in QSR, fast casual, or consumer lifestyle brands.
  • 3+ years of team leadership experience.
  • Proven success building and executing integrated marketing plans that drive measurable results.
  • Strong grasp of brand strategy, digital marketing, paid media, social media marketing, PR, creative development, and consumer insights.
  • Experience working with franchise organizations is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • A scrappy, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset—ready to hustle and innovate.

Additional Must Haves:

  • Must reside in Denver, CO, and be able to work in a hybrid office environment.
