Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Structural CAD/BIM Drafter and Designer to join our team in a hybrid capacity. The successful candidate will support structural design and construction projects by producing and modifying detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD and Revit / BIM software. This role will involve close collaboration with engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders to ensure quality and accuracy across deliverables.
This position offers a flexible schedule, with in-office attendance required 2–3 days per week and the option to work remotely on other days. Regular interaction with design and construction teams, both in-person and virtually, is expected.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and revise structural models, plans, sections, details, and schedules using Revit
Collaborate with engineering and inspection teams to ensure drawing accuracy and project alignment
Participate in project coordination meetings with engineers, inspectors, contractors, and owners
Review and incorporate field condition feedback and make drawing updates as needed
Prepare detailed drawing packages for all phases of construction
Perform field visits to verify existing conditions and structural layouts
Review project documentation to compute dimensions, element configurations, and drafting tolerances
Organize and file project documents, revisions, and final drawing sets
Create visual graphics and layout designs for client-facing presentations
Qualifications
5–10 years of Revit/BIM drafting/design experience, OR
2–5 years of experience with an Associate’s degree in a related field
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD required
Demonstrated ability to convert 2D sketches and specifications into 3D BIM models
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong ability to interpret and draft from hand sketches and verbal instructions
Basic knowledge of construction practices and building codes
- Knowledge of Structural Steel, Metal Buildings, Core & Shell design strongly preferred
Work Environment
Hybrid schedule (2–3 days in-office, remote optional remainder of week)
Office-based collaboration and periodic field visits required
Participation in design reviews and virtual project meetings
