- This is a full-time role at Colonial Gardens, in Blue Springs, Missouri, traveling to job sites & design consults.
- Salary Range: $60,000k-$70,000 dependent on experience + variable compensation earned through sales objectives.

Colonial Gardens, located in Blue Springs, MO, was added to our brand family in 2016. Founded in 1969, renovations began in 2017 to create an agritourism destination. Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead, manage, and hold accountable landscape crews to ensure the successful execution of projects. Provide clear directions, assign tasks effectively, and monitor progress to meet project timelines and quality standards. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that promotes open communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Budget/P&L?: Responsible for the department’s Profit & Loss (P&L) performance by managing budgets, controlling expenses, and ensuring profitable operations. Drive revenue growth through effective proposal development and cost-effective project execution.
- Landscape Revenue?: Actively pursue new landscape design projects through incoming leads, client engagement, and proposal development. Leverage existing client relationships to generate repeat business and referrals, ensuring sustained revenue growth.
- Project Management/Scheduling?: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout all project phases, ensuring seamless communication and high customer satisfaction from initial consultation to project completion. Lead, coordinate, and oversee crews on project management and site supervision, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to quality standards.
- Safe Workplace: Promote and maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and providing ongoing staff training to minimize risks and ensure compliance.
Essential Job Duties:
- Actively pursue leads by engaging with incoming inquiries, following up with potential clients, and establishing new contacts to generate a steady flow of project opportunities
- Conduct site visits for initial assessments, gathering site conditions, client needs, and project requirements to inform design and proposal development
- Prepare and present detailed landscape design proposals using DynaScape, demonstrating value to clients and progressing from initial consultation to securing project sales
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout all project phases, including schedule updates, material selections, and installation details, to ensure transparency and high customer satisfaction
- Aid in materials procurement by confirming specifications and delivery timelines, and communicating substitutions or alternatives when necessary
- Develop and implement landscape designs and proposals, ensuring alignment with client needs and project scope
- Drive sales of landscape design and project implementation by managing the services team, ensuring high-quality delivery, and increasing department profitability
- Oversee daily project operations by coordinating crew schedules, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress to ensure projects stay on track and meet quality standards
- Lead, motivate, and supervise landscape crews daily, providing clear instructions, addressing issues promptly, and conducting regular safety and performance check-ins
- Participate in physical labor and landscape installation tasks as needed, demonstrating proficiency and leading by example to foster teamwork and efficiency
- Conduct safety briefings and site inspections daily, enforcing safety protocols, correcting unsafe behaviors, and documenting safety compliance activities
- Ensure the highest quality design integrity during project construction, maintaining visual and functional standards
- Perform site inspections and verify project completion, addressing client concerns and requests with professionalism and urgency
- Oversee scheduling and coordination of service projects to ensure timely and efficient execution
- Review and manage departmental expenses daily, ensuring spending aligns with budget parameters and adjusting resource allocation as needed to control costs
- Develop and update project schedules, coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors, and oversee crew activities to ensure timely and safe project completion
- Track project progress, safety incidents, client feedback, and resource utilization; compile weekly reports to inform management and support continuous improvement
- Develop and refine processes and procedures to improve department efficiency and effectiveness
- Create, implement, and maintain post-project customer satisfaction surveys, aiming for high scores and continuous service improvement
- Provide ongoing customer service support, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and profitably, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction to strengthen the department’s reputation and secure future opportunities
- Partner with the management team to align the landscape department’s goals with overall company objectives, participate in weekly management meetings, and provide updates on department wins, progress, and key initiatives
- Act as the face of the department by representing the landscape team in internal and external marketing efforts, building brand awareness and promoting department capabilities

Minimum Qualifications:
- Required: 5+ years of experience in landscape design, project management, or landscape construction, with a proven track record of managing teams and delivering high-quality projects
- Required: Proficiency in landscape design software such as DynaScape, AutoCAD, or similar programs
- Required: Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate and oversee project sites safely
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Landscape Design, or a related field
- Preferred: Class E license for operating specific equipment
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish & English
