The Sr. Director, GM – Advertising leads the definition and execution of a bold advertising strategy that fuels growth, unlocks new revenue streams, and shapes the future of digital monetization. You will drive revenue for one of the largest Retail Media Networks in the world, grow adoption for core products, partner with large brands and agencies, and lead high-impact partnerships across the ad tech ecosystem. Working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams, you’ll balance business results with a great user experience. This is a high-visibility, strategic, creative, and commercially-minded leadership role to build and scale a next-gen advertising platform.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Advertising Strategy & Vision: Define and execute the company-wide advertising strategy, align with business goals, product roadmap, and market opportunities. Identify new monetization models and formats across owned digital properties. Drive the long-term vision for platform advertising, balancing user experience with revenue growth.
  • Business Development & Revenue Growth: Lead development of advertising partnerships with brands, agencies, DSPs, SSPs, and ad tech platforms. Own advertising revenue targets, pricing strategy, and yield management across all inventory types. Inform go-to-market strategies and programmatic monetization efforts.
  • Product & Platform Collaboration: Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define requirements, technology integrations, and scalable infrastructure. Partner on the launch of new advertising products, personalization engines, targeting capabilities, and attribution models. Ensure compliance with privacy laws and advertising standards.
  • Measurement, Insights & Optimization: Establish performance frameworks, KPIs, and real-time dashboards for ad revenue, user engagement, and ROI. Guide A/B testing and continuous optimization of creative formats, targeting, and ad placement. Translate insights into actionable recommendations for marketing, product, and partner strategy.
  • Leadership & Organizational Development: Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing advertising organization, including sales, ad ops, partnerships, and strategy. Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence within the advertising team. Represent advertising in board-level discussions, investor relations, and corporate planning.

What You Will Bring

  • 12+ years of experience in digital advertising, media monetization, or platform strategy, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
  • Deep experience partnering with Brands, Agencies and Retail Media Networks.
  • Strong track record of leading advertising strategy in tech-enabled companies (e.g., marketplaces, SaaS, mobile apps, streaming).
  • MBA or equivalent business/strategy training preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent executive presence, communication, and storytelling skills.
  • Commercially driven with a user-first mindset.
  • Strategic and systems-oriented thinker.
  • Highly collaborative with strong executive influence.
  • Innovative, data-driven, and resilient in ambiguity.
  • Passionate about the evolution of the advertising landscape.

Compensation & Benefits

The base pay range for this position is $250,000 - $333,800. Base pay offered may vary based on location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may include a target bonus, restricted stock units, and a full range of benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off). Details of participation in these plans will be provided if an offer is extended.

If hired, employees will be in an at-will position. The Company reserves the right to modify base salary and other discretionary compensation programs at any time, including for performance, department needs, and market factors.
