Senior Audio/Visual Support Specialist - Information Technology - Dallas

The A/V Support Specialist will provide expert technical support and oversight of all audio/visual equipment and operations within the Dallas office, particularly within the Conference Center. This role includes direct client and Winstead user support, ensuring seamless and professional meeting experiences. The technician will also assist with general IT support duties as needed. This position may require occasional overtime to support early morning or late evening meetings and events.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and configure audio/visual software and hardware systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Initiate video conferencing meetings, including technical coordination with all offices. Input video conference schedule into appropriate systems. Tasks include setting-up, testing, initiating calls by dialing-up and connecting all parties scheduled to participate in the video conference (internal and external); assisting with audio only calls with video conferencing setups, and instructing users on basic video controls, such as mute, camera adjustments, as needed.
  • Provide on-site technical support for all video conferencing activities. Tasks include periodic monitoring of video conference while in progress, troubleshooting and resolving equipment failure, and involving additional IT support as required.
  • Deploy and support specialty equipment in conference rooms such as laptops, projection screens, projectors, and audio systems. Tasks include setup, instruction, and teardown.
  • Establish and implement periodic test plan and preventive maintenance procedures. The preventive maintenance process will include, but not be limited to system functionality check; audio, video, control, and power levels measurement and adjustment.
  • Support Professional Development/Winstead University Team by recording trainings, uploading to Intranet site, and updating Digital Library.
  • Provide service and support for TV displays located throughout various floors.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to ensure seamless integration of AV systems with the firm\'s network and infrastructure.
  • Manage and track A/V equipment inventory, ensuring all devices are accounted for, in working order, and properly stored or replaced as needed.
  • Coordinate with external vendors or service providers for specialized A/V needs, equipment repair, or event support when necessary.
  • Stay current with A/V technology trends and recommend upgrades or improvements to equipment, conference room setups, and meeting workflows.
  • Create and maintain quick reference guides or instructions for conference room technology to empower self-service where appropriate.
  • Assist with IT technical support duties.
  • Assist with in-office event setup, including audio, video, lighting, and room configuration for internal social events, training sessions, or client receptions.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience supporting and operating audio/visual systems in a corporate, legal, or professional services environment.
  • Proficient in video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Webex, Microsoft Teams, or similar.
  • Experience with A/V control systems and hardware, including projectors, microphones, and flat panel displays.
  • Knowledge of basic networking principles (IP addressing, firewalls, bandwidth, etc.) and how they relate to video/audio streaming.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting hardware and software issues in real time, under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work outside standard business hours as needed to support meetings or events.
