Overview
Event Technician, Audio Visual at Boston Marriott Long Wharf. Join Encore to apply for the Event Technician, Audio Visual role in a hospitality environment. A Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic/small-scale audiovisual systems while ensuring customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment.
- Customer Service: Strive to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers; maintain positive relationships with clients; meet with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment is functioning properly; monitor events throughout the day.
- Technical Ability: Understand the technical aspects of the job and troubleshoot equipment and software issues; handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
- Systems Knowledge: Follow company processes, complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine equipment for setup and strike; interact with staff and outside vendors; assist with floor up-selling where appropriate; assist clients with finalizing invoices; complete order entries in Navigator as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.

- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required for team members who may operate Company vehicles.
- Additional DOT requirements may apply where applicable.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment
Work is performed in hotel/convention center environments and at event venues or warehouses, with exposure to outdoor temperatures and dirt/dust. Working conditions vary from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members may work at multiple locations and hours can include irregular schedules, on-call status, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Appearance guidelines apply as defined by Encore.
Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $18.11 - $22.18
The compensation offered for this role is determined based on qualifications, location, travel, and relevant work experience. Final compensation may also reflect skills and bonuses where applicable.
