Overview

Related Affordable is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Community Manager to support the daily operations of a 343-unit LIHTC and HUD Section 236 affordable housing community in Yonkers, NY. The role collaborates with the Community Manager to maintain a well-functioning, welcoming environment for residents and ensure compliance with affordable housing regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing leasing activities, marketing, resident recertifications, and general administrative duties to support efficient community operations.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, aid in rent collection, and assist in managing delinquencies to maintain the financial health of the community.
  • Address resident concerns promptly and professionally; foster a positive living environment; assist in organizing resident appreciation and retention events.
  • Ensure adherence to affordable housing program requirements (e.g., HDC, HCR, HUD, LIHTC) by maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance audits.
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure timely and high-quality property upkeep, contributing to a safe and pleasant living environment.
  • Assist in preparing reports to monitor community performance and identify areas for improvement.

Compensation

  • $30.00 - $33.65 per hour
  • Annual Performance Bonus

This range is provided as a general guideline and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, location, and the specific responsibilities of the role. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Final compensation offers will be determined following a thorough assessment of the candidate's background and the requirements of the position.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of property management experience, preferably in affordable housing.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing programs (e.g., LIHTC, HUD Section 236) and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with RealPage OneSite and JD Edwards (or similar property management software).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for creating great living experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and navigate sensitive issues professionally.
  • Accountability and reliability with a focus on precision and attention to detail, coupled with resilience and proactive problem-solving; willingness to learn and collaborate to support resident-centered operations.
