Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time Instructional Design Contractor to join our team on a project basis in support of major software and operational initiatives across our airport operations. This role is ideal for a highly organized, self-directed learning professional with strong project management skills and the ability to translate complex systems into engaging training experiences. The contractor will collaborate with the Director of Learning & Development and cross-functional stakeholders to design, develop, and implement training content and delivery strategies, including on-site facilitation and support at airport locations to ensure effective adoption of new systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create training materials, including e-learning, job aids, instructor-led content, simulations, and quick reference guides tailored to diverse airport-based teams.
- Manage the training development lifecycle, timelines, and deliverables across multiple workstreams and locations.
- Track milestones, communicate progress, and flag risks or delays to the Director of Learning & Development.
- Partner with SMEs, airport leadership, and project teams to ensure training materials are accurate, up to date, and relevant.
- Participate in working sessions and feedback loops with frontline users to iterate and improve content.
- Travel to airport locations to support live training sessions, conduct train-the-trainer programs, and provide in-person coaching during go-live periods.
- Monitor learner engagement and feedback, adapting delivery methods to fit the operational environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communication, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in instructional design, ideally in a fast-paced, service-oriented or operations-heavy environment.
- Experience supporting large-scale systems implementations (e.g., ERP, POS) is strongly preferred.
- Strong command of instructional design software (e.g., Articulate 360, Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia).
- Experience with LMS platforms and SCORM-compliant content.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently, with excellent organization and prioritization skills.
- Strong facilitation skills and comfort working with a variety of audiences including frontline staff, managers, and technology teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel (approximately 50-60%) to airport locations during critical rollout phases.
- Flexible, proactive, and comfortable working under the direction of the Director of L&D while collaborating with multiple departments.
Compensation
Compensation: $50 - $75 per hour. Compensation may differ based on a variety of job-related factors that are specific to each candidate, including skill set and experience. All travel expenses related to project work, including airfare, lodging, and per diem, will be fully reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
