Shift Schedule / Hours
- 2-2-3 shift schedule: Nights 12-hour shifts (6:00pm – 6:00am)
- Work: Monday & Tuesday – Off: Wednesday & Thursday – Work: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday
- Off: Monday & Tuesday – Work: Wednesday & Thursday – Off: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday
Compensation
- Wages starting at $20.50 (depending on experience)
- Night Shift Differential $2.50
What We Need From You (Responsibilities)
- Operate and output assigned production lines
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures
- Participate in operator training and certification requirements
- Change plastic extruding machines and set up according to work orders
- Examine products for conformance to specifications
- Monitor quality and scrap; maintain line accuracy
- Perform housekeeping and preventative maintenance as required
- Set up plastic extrusion machines (shutdown, start-up, switchovers, preparation, production)
- Manage raw materials (resin) by keeping extruder fed
- Maintain teamwork with supervisor and co-workers
- Assist co-workers to expedite changeovers
Safety Requirements
- Prioritize safety and health in all activities
- Follow company guidelines and participate in safety processes
- Maintain housekeeping and professionalism
- Identify and report near misses/unsafe conditions
- Produce quality materials for customers
- Maintain production volume and efficiency
- Identify and propose process improvements
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and seek supervision as needed
Basic Qualifications
- 1-3 years of plastic extrusion experience preferred
- Ability to use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.)
- Strong technical/mechanical aptitude
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 65 lbs over a 12-hour shift
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Safety- and quality-focused
- Basic computer knowledge
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Physical Work and Work Environment
Regularly stand on a cement production floor during a 12-hour shift. Able to lift up to 65 pounds and work around hot surfaces and rotating equipment. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Exposure to seasonal temperature changes up to around 100°F. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable performance of essential functions.
