Overview

Journalism Part-Time Instructor Pool 2025-2026 at The University of Tampa. The Department of Communication in the College of Arts and Letters invites applications for part-time instructors to teach journalism courses, such as, but not limited to, reporting and writing, photojournalism, multimedia journalism, sports writing, environmental journalism, broadcast journalism and introduction to journalism.

Responsibilities

  • Teach one or more 4-hour courses per semester.
  • Create an individual syllabus with meeting times and specific assignments for students.
  • Mentor students regarding their assignments.
  • Manage and maintain the online grading system.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master’s Degree in journalism or a related discipline.
  • Professional experience in journalism.
  • Some teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Additional Information

Applications for part-time positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the department when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis which may include fall, spring and summer.
