Overview
The PCB Designer Librarian IV role at Frontgrade Technologies is responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining the schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D models used in electronic design automation (EDA) tools. This role ensures that all library elements are accurate, compliant with IPC standards and company guidelines, and properly integrated with PLM and ERP systems. The Librarian works closely with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to support part selection, ensure design consistency, and maintain data integrity across all design projects. A strong attention to detail, knowledge of IPC standards, and experience with EDA tools are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Participate in engineering design review preparation by providing inputs to the Engineering team as required.
- Create and maintain symbols and footprints: Develop accurate schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D models in compliance with IPC standards and company guidelines.
- Library standardization: Enforce naming conventions, parameter consistency, and design rules across all library elements.
- Component verification: Ensure components meet electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing requirements through datasheet reviews and cross-functional collaboration.
- Centralized library control: Manage centralized part libraries within EDA tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence, Mentor Xpedition) to ensure version control and data integrity.
- PLM/ERP integration: Coordinate with PLM/ERP systems (e.g., Agile, Windchill, SAP) to maintain alignment between design libraries and corporate part databases.
- Mentor less experienced designers by providing technical training, peer reviews, and overall project guidance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience as a PCB Librarian.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- IPC CID (Certified Interconnect Designer) certification (Preferred).

- Pay Range: $38.54 - $48.17 per hour. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
