Overview
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and systems-savvy Sr. Digital Asset Librarian to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system and support the lifecycle of product and brand photography across channels. This role ensures that all creative assets are properly organized, discoverable, and delivered efficiently to our teams and partners. As the central steward of our DAM, you’ll work cross-functionally with creative, marketing, digital, and IT stakeholders to enhance system performance, onboard users, troubleshoot issues, and lead future development phases.
The ideal candidate is highly technical, detail-oriented, and user-focused, with a passion for organization and a proactive mindset for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- DAM Operations & Governance
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the DAM system for the Pottery Barn brand.
- Oversee the tagging, ingestion, versioning, and archiving of all digital assets.
- Assist with asset tagging for 5,000–10,000 new images quarterly.
- Maintain taxonomy, metadata structure, and consistent file organization to streamline content search and retrieval.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with color, photo, and production teams to ensure accurate product information in asset tagging and the most up-to-date assets available to users.
- Conduct ongoing audits of metadata and asset records for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Team Lead
- Supervise and mentor DAM librarians and associate team members.
- Monitor project progress, assign special projects, and oversee documentation and training.
- Provide feedback through regular performance check-ins and formal reviews.
- System Enhancements & Integration
- Identify and implement enhancements to the DAM platform; lead testing and deployment of upgrades.
- Partner with IT and development teams on new functionality and future integration with WCM and PIM platforms.
- Support automation of metadata capture and asset ingestion processes.
- Collaborate with other WSI brand stakeholders on shared governance, best practices, and long-term system strategy.
- User Training & Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the DAM platform—system questions, troubleshooting, educating users, and maintaining data integrity.
- Develop and maintain onboarding materials for internal stakeholders—how-to guides and training documentation.
- Conduct virtual training sessions and ongoing education for new and existing users.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience managing a Digital Asset Management system, ideally within a retail, fashion, or consumer brand environment.
- Deep familiarity with DAM platforms (e.g., Adobe AEM Assets, Bynder, Aprimo, or similar).
- Strong understanding of metadata, taxonomy, workflow design, and digital file formats.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills; able to create clear, user-friendly materials.
- Collaborative spirit with experience working with cross-functional teams including creative, digital production, and IT.
- Process-oriented with strong attention to detail, record-keeping, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience managing bulk metadata updates and controlled vocabulary maintenance.
- Passion for creating scalable systems and continuous process improvement.
- Background in visual arts, photography, or retail/e-commerce asset pipelines.
- Familiarity with WCM systems and system integrations is a plus.
- Familiarity with ShotFlow, Kazing, Keynote, Jira, Adobe Creative Suite, and SailPoint is a plus.
