Job Summary

Performs circulation and customer service functions. Answers directional questions and refers customers to appropriate materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs circulation duties, such as checking materials in and out, handling bills and notices, placing items on hold, processing courier delivery, processing a variety of reports, and account maintenance.
• Assists patrons with reference, computer, and equipment questions and support.
• Assists in planning and implementing programs and outreach activities.
• Handles interlibrary loans.
• Serves on internal and external committees and workgroups.
• Shelves materials.
• Collects crates of materials for patrons/organizations utilizing the delivery service.
• Prepares bulletin boards and other displays.

Work Requirements / Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of Windows-based computer operations, internet and email.
• Knowledge of library methods and procedures preferred.
• General office experience.
• Ability to work with patrons and reference materials and perform duties with accuracy and attention to detail.
