Overview

The Senior Vice President, Media is a key leader responsible for shaping and driving the strategic direction of Fingerpaint Group's healthcare media practice. This position requires a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical marketing landscape, with a proven ability to lead teams, innovate in a rapidly evolving media environment, and drive strategic client outcomes. The ideal candidate will blend strategic foresight with hands-on operational management to deliver best-in-class, audience-centric media solutions for both direct-to-consumer (DTC) and healthcare professional (HCP) audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Client Partnership: Define and oversee the development of innovative, data-driven media strategies tailored for HCP and DTC audiences, ensuring alignment with client objectives, market trends, and industry best practices. Serve as a senior strategic partner and thought leader for clients, providing expert counsel on cross-channel media strategies, audience engagement, and campaign performance.
  • Team Leadership & Operational Management: Lead, inspire, and mentor a high-performing media team, from senior directors to junior planners. Oversee the successful operational management of assigned teams, ensuring seamless execution, clear communication, and continuous professional growth for all team members. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and adaptability to keep the team at the forefront of emerging technologies and industry shifts like AI-driven media.
  • Integration and Analytics: Foster deep collaboration with account, creative, strategy, and analytics teams to ensure media strategies are integrated into cohesive, data-driven marketing campaigns. Partner with analytics teams to apply insights in strategy development and campaign optimization, utilizing advanced measurement frameworks to assess effectiveness and demonstrate ROI.
  • Client & Business Growth: Act as a trusted senior strategic advisor for clients, providing thought leadership on pharmaceutical media strategy, audience engagement, and channel selection. Lead new business pitches, RFPs, and initiatives to secure new clients and expand existing account relationships.
  • Regulatory & Industry Expertise: Proactively stay ahead of industry changes, such as emerging media channels, cookie deprecation, and evolving first-party data strategies, and guide the team and clients through these complexities. Ensure all media strategies comply with pharmaceutical industry regulations, including HIPAA, NAI, and other data privacy laws and best practices.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in media strategy, planning, and activation, with deep and sustained experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing.
  • Extensive expertise in both DTC and HCP media, across a wide range of channels, including programmatic, social, search, traditional (including linear television), out-of-home, in-office, and endemic placements.
  • Proven ability to lead business development initiatives and contribute to significant agency growth.
  • A "test and learn" mindset with a deep knowledge of media analytics, attribution modeling, and the ability to translate complex data into compelling, actionable recommendations.
  • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry's regulatory landscape, data compliance, and the privacy implications of media targeting and analytics.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced agency environment, fostering a culture of innovation and professional growth.
  • Strong client-facing skills with experience building relationships with senior-level brand teams and regulatory partners.
  • Experience with key media research and planning tools (e.g., Comscore, Kantar) and proficiency with industry technology platforms (e.g., DMPs, CDPs).
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • A passion for innovation and a strong working knowledge of emerging trends in AI-driven media, adtech, and personalized engagement.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. A master's degree is a plus.
