The Media Archive Manager oversees the integrity, organization, and accessibility of UFC’s vast media archive, including original programming, field shoots, and live event coverage. This individual is responsible for managing the end-to-end archival pipeline—from acquisition and ingest to metadata management and long-term storage—ensuring content is securely preserved and readily accessible to internal teams and partners.

Acting as a central operational liaison between post-production, live event crews, and distribution, the Media Archive Manager will supervise archival workflows, maintain metadata standards, and spearhead improvements to systems and processes. This position is based at UFC Headquarters in Las Vegas and does not require travel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the ingestion, metadata tagging, archival, and storage of all UFC media, including RAID, LTO, and cloud-based systems
  • Manage Reach Engine workflows to maintain a clean and searchable Data Asset Management (DAM) environment
  • Ensure media is available and verified for use in editing, repurposing, and global distribution workflows
  • Coordinate with live event teams, field producers, and Originals staff to ensure timely offload, cataloging, and quality checks of event footage
  • Maintain detailed archive logs, media indexes, and asset tracking reports to support internal audits and rights management
  • Lead archival support for recurring programming (e.g., Embedded, Countdown, Reloaded), including version tracking and delivery prep
  • Troubleshoot drive or file issues, rewrap or transcode media as needed, and escalate recurring technical concerns
  • Train and support assistant editors or team members assisting with archival processes
  • Recommend and implement improvements to archival infrastructure and data asset management (DAM) systems, including ongoing optimization of Reach Engine workflows
  • Partner with leadership to evolve archive policies, ensure compliance, and contribute to the long-term scalability of UFC's post-production pipeline

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in media archival, post-production operations, or digital asset management
  • High School, GED or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree preferred
  • Proficiency with media asset management systems; experience with Reach Engine strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Media Encoder) and transcoding tools
  • Experience with LTO backup workflows, file-based ingest, and metadata creation
  • Working knowledge of a wide range of camera formats, resolutions, and codecs (ProRes, MXF, RED, XAVC, etc.)
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to work across departments and levels
  • Comfortable working on macOS and Windows platforms
  • Knowledge of UFC’s content ecosystem or combat sports programming is a strong plus
