Position Summary
The Music Therapist conducts music therapy activities to improve functioning and independence and to provide activity resources and opportunities for all patients, with a focus on improving health and well-being.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Conducting an activity assessment on patients
- Conducting therapeutic activity groups
- Maintaining the health and safety of patients
- Completing and documenting evaluations of progress and participating in treatment team

Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s in Music Therapy
- Two (2) years’ experience providing Music Therapy; preference for at least two years in a psychiatric setting with children, adolescents and adults
- Certified Music Therapist Credential required
- Working knowledge of music therapy programming; effective oral and written communication skills; knowledge of Therapeutic Boundaries, Search and Contraband, Risk Management, Infection Control, Common Psychiatric Diagnoses, Fire Safety; Behavioral Management
- Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills
- Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM
