Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed private psychiatric center providing 24-hour emergency services and a full continuum of care including inpatient treatment for children, adolescents and adults; partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and ECT services for adults. Position Summary

The Music Therapist conducts music therapy activities to improve functioning and independence and to provide activity resources and opportunities for all patients, with a focus on improving health and well-being.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conducting an activity assessment on patients
  • Conducting therapeutic activity groups
  • Maintaining the health and safety of patients
  • Completing and documenting evaluations of progress and participating in treatment team

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s in Music Therapy
  • Two (2) years’ experience providing Music Therapy; preference for at least two years in a psychiatric setting with children, adolescents and adults
  • Certified Music Therapist Credential required
  • Working knowledge of music therapy programming; effective oral and written communication skills; knowledge of Therapeutic Boundaries, Search and Contraband, Risk Management, Infection Control, Common Psychiatric Diagnoses, Fire Safety; Behavioral Management
  • Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM
