Job Title: Legal Analyst
Reports To: SVP, Business & Legal Affairs, Latin America

Your role
Under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment and decision, you will participate in the legal operations of the Company and work with other departments within the Company. This involves reviewing/drafting contracts affecting copyrights, licenses, royalties, fees, assisting with claims and settlements, and leading contract deadlines along with other related legal and/or business affairs matters. Knowledge of basic legal concepts, as well as a background in contract drafting and contract administration is crucial for this position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and revise various music-related agreements, including recording, licensing, distribution, producer, side artist, and video agreements.
- Manage contract execution processes and maintain accurate records using internal systems and databases.
- Conduct legal and factual research related to copyright, trademarks, rights management, and artist disputes.
- Compose letters, memos, and recaps for internal collaborators.
- Coordinate signatures, track deliverables, and prioritize documentation for fully completed agreements.
- Assist in the clearance of samples, artwork, marketing materials, and other content.
- Support due diligence and audits related to artist contracts, royalty disputes, or acquisitions.
- Maintain a status sheet for all open team matters. Update weekly and attend team meetings to discuss.
- Liaise with internal departments including A&R, Marketing, Digital, and Royalties to gather or share relevant documentation.
- Support attorneys in responding to claims, notices, and litigation matters.
- Assist with any special projects, as required.
About you
- 2-4 years of related experience at a law firm or in-house legal department and/or other legal background/experience.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and contract lifecycle.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with employees at all levels and across departments.
- Strong sense of ethics and ability to handle confidential matters with discretion and judgment.
- Capable of balancing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Active desire to learn and proactive in taking the lead on assignments and tasks.
Nice to have
- Experience in the music or entertainment industry.
- Experience with a contract management tool.
- B.A. degree and Paralegal certification preferred (from ABA accredited school) or equivalent legal experience.
- Familiarity with or ability to use Google Workspace.
