Be part of the connection As Executive Producer, you’ll own the vision for the newscast. You’ll lead your team through story creation to produce compelling, timely, and accurate newscasts. You’ll be responsible for building a positive team culture, while generating story ideas that reflect your local community. You’ll make data-informed decisions to connect your audience with the stories that matter.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision for the newscast and lead the team from story creation to production of compelling, timely, and accurate newscasts.
• Build a positive team culture and generate story ideas reflecting the local community.
• Oversee projects start to finish, including breaking news coverage and issue-driven special programming.
• Engage in hands-on management and training involving graphics, cameras, and cross-newsroom workflow.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Producing and executive producing in television news – 5+ years.
• Management: 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience.
• Technical Skills: Working knowledge of general computer software.
• Skills: Basic editing and ability to effectively train others.
• Travel: Open to travel to discover important stories in the community and engage with the community.
• Schedule: Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of newsroom software and basic non-linear editing systems.
• May be required to lift up to five pounds.

Working Conditions

• Works primarily inside a climate-controlled environment; occasional field duties may be required.
• Semi-noisy newsroom environment.
